“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Quote of the Day.
Today’s quote describes how the things behind us and in front of us on the path of life pale in comparison to what lies inside of us. One way to consider this is that the things we DO in life, pale in comparison to who we are.
Yesterday we briefly contrasted inner beauty against society’s definition of beauty. Today’s post fits in by contrasting inner beauty against the things we DO in life. The comparison is very similar in that it compares external to internal, and serves as a reminder of how important it is to develop our inner beauty – our true selves – along with the other aspects of our lives. Indeed, developing our inner beauty will have a positive effect on all other spheres of our life.
If you develop yourself and true greatness lies inside of you, how will that affect “what lies in front of you” during the rest of life? Develop inner beauty and great things will follow!
