Quote of the Day – Theophrastus on Time

Theophrastus“Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend.”

- Theophrastus

Today’s quote is a simple but potent one.  It serves as a reminder that time is, for everyone, the most valuable thing we can spend.  Regarding time, consider the following:

  • Once time is spent, we cannot get it back.  However, time that we invest wisely can benefit us for the rest of our lives.
  • We all have a finite amount of time available to us, but we never know when that time will run out.
  • Our time is ours alone – we cannot give it away or buy more.

Keep this quote in mind as you go throughout your day – what are you spending your time on?  Are you investing your time?  Or just spending it?

About Theophrastus:  Theophrastus was a Greek philosopher and successor to Aristotle, presiding over the Peripatetic school of philosophy for 36 years.
