Quote of the Day – Maxwell on Gratitude

Neal A. Maxwell“We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count.”

- Neal A. Maxwell

Thanksgiving week 2012, Quotes about Gratitude:
As we close out Thanksgiving week for this year and roll into the holiday season, I wanted to leave you with one more quote about gratitude.  Today’s quote from Neal Maxwell follows up nicely with some of what we have heard this week from JFK and others.  Mr. Maxwell points out that we should “make our blessings count”.

This quote will undoubtedly take on different meaning for each of us, since we have each been blessed with different abilities, different things, and different life-scenarios.  Regardless, one universal take-away is that we should not squander what we have been given.  In a very real sense, squandering the time, gifts and abilities we have is to show ingratitude for those blessings.

If you spent some time this week in a spirit of thanksgiving, you likely have a list of things in mind that you are thankful for – blessings you have been given.  What can you do during the next week to make those blessings count?  How about during the holiday season?  How about the next year?

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!  Until next year, remember to maintain a spirit of gratitude, take the time to express your gratitude to others, don’t stress about the things you lack – and make your blessings count!
